Butterflies are beautiful, elegant and graceful
Unique in so many ways
Tender, delicate and hesitant to be still
To touch my heart is pleasing
Emerald green and ruby red, a spectrum of many colours
Rest, and watch them timelessly
Flawless after a transformation
Life, reborn anew
Ignite the warmth within my soul
Engaging with each other they dance
Swirling between the reeds and lilies on the riverside
Released from a cocoon they feel the freedom
Energy, swiftness and grace
Beating down hot rays, the sun is warming
Overt from my hiding space, they dart about my head
Releasing love and joy from within me
Nostalgic memories enter my head
