Lots of Ology's!
One subject that I find really interesting is Archaeology, and also the related subject of Chronology, especially as it relates to the Bible.
I was greatly fascinated by the 3 part TV documentary series Pharaoh's and Kings - A Biblical Quest by Egyptologist David Rohl. He has also released a book entitled A Test of Time which I have read with enthusiasm (and more recently Legend: The Genesis of Civilisation).
Through his study of Egyptology, he believes that many centuries are missing in the Conventional Chronology that Egyptology is founded on, and has proposed a theory of a New Chronology. This in turn led him to take a fresh look at Biblical Chronology, due to the fact that Egyptian Chronology was originally based around Biblical Chronology (phew)!
Therefore, much of the ancient history of the Hebrew people as revealed in the Bible has been missed in Archaeology because they have been looking for the evidence in the wrong time-zones, hence in the wrong places! His conclusions are very revealing, and I believe he is definitely on the right track, in some respects.
This in turn led me to a more in-depth study of Biblical Chronology. It has resulted in a clearer understanding of Biblical history, as it relates to the secular chronology of the world. So for anyone who is interested in Biblical Chronology and Translations, you can take a look at my conclusions.
